Welcome to Plus Size Jewelry, a website dedicated to all of the BBW’s out there like me. Just in case you didn’t know, BBW, stands for Big Beautiful Woman. Love Us! We Are Beautiful. My name is Judy, and I was born in 1950, so I’m probably older than most of you, but probably not so different. Time and age have taken their toll, so at five foot two, I am now a short, but Big Beautiful Woman.

So why am I so interested in this subject…. well, mostly because of my friends and my younger sister. People gave my sister such a hard time growing up, but somehow that old saying, “sticks and stones may break my bones….” and our mom kept her from losing her self-confidence. To this day, she is beautiful inside and out.

Add to that, my best friend for the last twenty something years, and there you have it.

Two beautiful people who have faced the frustrations of being beautiful, but having such a hard time showing it. True, today it is so much easier to find flattering apparel than it was 20 or 30 years ago as many fine designers have stepped up and brought forth stunning dresses and flattering casual wear.

Finding true jewelry designers hasn’t been the case, however. Here is what my friends say, “Oh, I can find all the costume jewelry I want, but when I buy jewelry, I want the same quality I can buy now in my shoes and clothes.”

Furthermore, “I want jewelry that makes me look like a million and feel like another million. Oh, almost forgot, I don’t really want it to cost a million though.”

They also said, “The jewelry I buy must be designed to make me look good, so I want the quality that only true artists can produce after carefully studying and understanding the full figured girl.”

A few say they wouldn’t waste their money on good jewelry, but fine jewelry can be forever.

My mom was raised during the depression of the thirties and she taught me that the real bargain is quality.

She taught me how to shop for clothes so that I could have a wardrobe with careful planning instead of just a couple of outfits.

She taught me that a few beautiful pieces of jewelry would set me apart from the others, so I come by this appreciation naturally.

Now, where can you find fine designer plus size jewelry? As you can see, on this website, I proudly display only one designer, Wendy Culpepper. She is a true artist, who designs each piece only after taking into account every aspect of the human body.

Actually, I happen to be her mother too, so when one of my friends shared the story below and I shared it with Wendy, she was horrified. She immediately began to design a complete set of jewelry from each of her collections that would ensure that choices were available for all beautiful women.

If what you read below has ever happened to you, it never has to happen again! Here is the story that started it all.

Judy: How do you ever find the type of jewelry that you want?

Louise: Well on the good days when I am most determined, I will walk into the jewelry store and steel myself for the inevitable looks of amazement when I tell the petite little clerk that I need a 9 inch bracelet, only to have her suggest that I buy an anklet instead.

My other favorite is when she suggests that really what I might like would be to see the men’s rings. NOT. Or when she says, “that choker doesn’t come in a 22 inch length. I only carry that in a 16 inch size.” And finding bangles, forget it.

Well, ladies, I am determined to find quality, designer, larger sized jewelry!
